My name is Destyni Walker-Tabor and I have been an Occupational Therapist (OT)for two years, specializing in pediatrics. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies at Saginaw Valley State University. I’ve known since a young age that I wanted to work with children in some capacity- my mother inspired this path while she worked with children with Autism spectrum disorder for 10+ years as a paraprofessional. I discovered that occupational therapy was my calling when I discovered that the profession was all about helping others help themselves.
I started my career as the solo OT in an ABA center, moving to The Beaumont Health System (now Corewell Health) in 2020. I have a special interest and experience in the areas of feeding difficulties, infant feeding, neurodevelopmental treatment, fine motor development, and sensory processing interventions. As an OT, I have dedicated myself to life-long-learning!
Family involvement is an essential component to a child’s growth and success. What I love most about being a pediatric OT is developing a trusting and therapeutic relationship with the families I meet!
